With our sustainability assurance methodology developed through audits of financial statements, combined with our rich know-how acquired through the experience of specialized environmental and CSR services, we are more than confident that our assurance engagements not only improve the credibility of sustainability reports but also help identify opportunities for improvement within companies’ sustainability reporting systems.

Validation and verification of greenhouse gas emissions assertions

We verify corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under such schemes as JVETS and trial emissions trading scheme in Japan, and also provide validation and verification of GHG assertions under J-VER and domestic credit scheme.

Validation, verification and certification of CDM projects

KPMG AZSA Sustainability Co., Ltd. is one of the Designated Operational Entities (DOEs) designated by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to render validation, verification and certification services to the participants of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects.

GRI Certified Training: Sustainability Reporting

Sustainability Reporting Guidelines Version 3.0 (so-called “G3 Guidelines”), which was released by Global Reporting Initiative (“GRI”) in 2006, has come to be recognized as the de facto standard by enterprises issuing sustainability reports. Today we see a number of enterprises around the world reporting on sustainability in accordance with G3 Guidelines.

On September 2, 2009, KPMG AZSA Sustainability Co. Ltd. was certified by GRI as the first GRI Certified Training Partner in Japan. Since October 2009, we have been providing periodically training programs to Japanese participants.
